Suhas Bhujbal captures abundant ambiance, mood and movement in his figurative paintings. Many of his giant pieces brim with people and color, pulling the viewer into vibrant imaginary settings; others are informed by his regular meditation practice, with an overwhelming peacefulness apparent in his canvases.
In an international city like San Francisco, Bhujbal finds everyday inspiration in people from various cultures, ethnicities, nationalities and ages. He also travels and sketches extensively, then develops the drawings into his final works of art. Suhas Bhujbal has served as a faculty member in the Graduate Fine Arts Department at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. He had a solo show at the Triton Art Museum in Santa Clara, and a two-person show at the Bakersfield Museum of Art. In addition, his work has been included in shows at Palm Springs Art Museum, the New Museum of Los Gatos, the de Saisset Museum at Santa Clara University, and Coos Art Museum in Oregon. Bhujbal’s works have been collected by Dell Foundation, VISA International, Charles Schwab, Bloomingdales, Tamalpais Bank, Hewlett Packard, Genentech, and the Bakersfield Museum of Art.
