Heir to Rice, Sculpture

The East Gallery, dedicated to sculpture, opens with works in bronze and recycled metals by Lori Kay, an early Artist in Residence with Recology. Kay’s public art commissions can be found in San Francisco, Seattle, Fremont, Half Moon Bay, Mountain View and Bellevue, WA. A graduate of UC Santa Cruz, she also trained extensively at the University of Geneva, Switzerland and in the bronze foundries of Pietrasanta, Italy.

Over the last nineteen years, Lori Kay's work has been exhibited extensively on the local, national and international level. Her awards and grants include the Peninsula Community Foundation, the Philanthropic Ventures Foundation, artist in residence with the Arts Council of San Mateo County, Silicon Valley Arts Council and California Arts Council. She has lectured at San Francisco State University, University of California at Santa Cruz and at Berkeley, University of San Francisco, Seattle Central College, Mission College, Wing Luke Asian Museum and San Jose City College.
