Seeking Story is an exhibition of mixed media narrative pieces, each comprised of multiple images. Inspired by the artist's interest in the art form of unique books, each piece literally unfolds to tell a visual story. Working with paper or recycled books, the images evolve using multiple layers of gesso, acrylic, collage, found objects and prismacolor pencils. "With a shoe box full of supplies I am able to start my books wherever I travel from local images and ephemera, often applying final touches in my home studio." - Deb Rumer. Rumer was Instructor of 2D fine art- printmaking, drawing, color and design at the College of San Mateo for 39 years.
